Rosatom CEO says Russia, Egypt to sign nuke deal in December

SOCHI, Nov 21 (PRIME) -- A commercial agreement between Russia and Egypt to build nuclear power plant El Dabaa is to be signed in December, CEO of Russian nuclear power corporation Rosatom Alexei Likhachyov told reporters on Tuesday.

“We’ve agreed with the Egyptian authorities to enforce all agreements at once, all commercial agreements, I mean. And this is December of this year. Real works will start immediately after the enforcement,” Likhachyov said.

The facility will have four 1,200-megawatt units, the launch of the first unit is scheduled for 2024. Russia will provide a U.S. $25 billion loan for the plant’s construction.
